Library sends overdue reminders through email. It is
the members responsibility to ensure their email address supplied is
valid and accessible. For students who have email address ending with ichat.sp.edu.sg
are required to access your mailbox at least once in
180 days to prevent automatic deactivation of your email account.
Please note that it is the
responsibility of all library members to return/renew materials on time.
Non-receipt of email reminders is not an acceptable reason for late
returns/renewals.
Therefore, please do ensure that your
email address and other contact information shown in
My Loans page are up-to-date.

Types of Email Notifications
1. ITEM DUE SOON REMINDER
This is a Courtesy Notice sent prior to the due date of the library items. You will
receive a Courtesy Notice by email as follows:
7 days before the due date for items that are
loaned out for 28 days (e.g., Colours Books)
5 days before the due date for items that are
loaned out for 21 days (e.g., Books)
2 days before the due date for items that are
loaned out for 7 days (e.g., DVD, Music CD, Periodicals)
No Courtesy Notices would be sent for hourly loan items
You are advised to return the items or renew the item online before the
due date. Renewal is not
allowed if the item is reserved by another user or if it is
a non-renewable item. Generally, Media items (e.g., DVD, Music CDs, Videos) and Periodicals are not renewable. Please refer to
Loan Privileges for
details.
2. OVERDUE REMINDERS
Overdue email reminders will also be sent to you when the items are overdue.
The email reminders will be sent to you as follows:

If the items have not been returned after 5 reminders, you
will billed for the replacement cost. The bill would include the
item cost, a billing fee of $10 and GST.
If the items are returned subsequently, you will be charged for the
billing fee of $10, or the total overdue fines, whichever is higher. Should the billed items be returned after payment has been made, no
refund will be given. However, we would return the paid items to the
library user who had paid for the Replacement Bill. |
