Fines for Overdue Items, and
Overdue Reminders policy of the Library.
1. Singapore Polytechnic Students
Full-time and part-time students will become library members once they
obtain their student cards from the Admissions Office. This card must
be produced when using Library facilities and services. Newly enrolled
students may begin borrowing on the first day of the academic year.

2. Singapore Polytechnic Short Course Participants
Students enrolled in short courses of duration 3 months or longer need to request for Library
membership through their School/Department lecturer. Membership expires 2 weeks before the
completion of the course. Students enrolled in courses of duration less than 3 months are allowed
to use Library facilities but are not entitled to borrowing privileges.

3. Singapore Polytechnic Staff
New full-time staff are automatically registered as library members.

Part-time teaching staff are automatically registered as library members.
Library membership is only valid for the duration of employment.

4. Graduates of Singapore Polytechnic
Graduates from any of the SP full-time diplomas, part-time 5-year full-time
equivalent diplomas, advanced diplomas or specialist diplomas may apply
for SP Graduate Library membership.
The annual subscription fee is $53.50 (includes 7% GST).
First time applicants, holding SP Alumni Card
can enjoy 20% discount on their first year annual fee. Full fee apply
for subsequent renewals.
To register, applicants need to:
a) produce a photocopy of their SP diploma or advanced diploma certificate
b) produce their NRIC card or passport for verification
c) submit a recent IC-sized photograph
d) pay the prevailing subscription fee by NETS/Cheque/Cash
e) produce SP Alumni Card for verification (to enjoy 20% discount - for first time applicant only)

Graduate members may borrow 6 items, including 2 CD-ROM

5. Retirees of Singapore Polytechnic
Retirees of SP will become library members when they join the SP Retirees Club. The ID card, issued by the
Department of Human Resource, must be produced when using Library facilities and services.

6. Full-time teaching staff of other tertiary
institutions in Singapore
This scheme includes full-time teaching staff from NP, NYP, RP, TP, NTU,
NIE & SMU.
To register, full-time teaching staff of these institutions must show
their staff cards and a letter of introduction from their institution
and provide an IC-sized photograph. Staff from other institutions not
stated above may apply for Corporate or Personal Library Membership if
they wish to.

7. Corporate Library Membership
Industrial and commercial firms, professional organisations, government
departments and statutory boards may apply for corporate library membership.
Each organisation or department may nominate its employees to register
and join the Library. Membership card is transferable among employees
within the company. Members need to produce their company name/staff cards
or letter of authorisation when borrowing library materials with the membership card.
The annual subscription fee is $214.00 (includes 7% GST).

8. Personal Library Membership
Personal library membership is granted on a case by case basis to students
who are enrolled for open/distance learning external degree programmes
conducted in Singapore and to professionals who wish to keep abreast with
current developments. The annual subscription fee is $214.00 (includes
7% GST). To apply, please see instructions below. Each member may borrow
6 items, including 2 CD-ROM titles. For details, please refer to

Applying for Corporate and Personal Library Membership
The subscription fee for each member is $214.00 a year (inclusive of 7% GST).

Submit completed application forms with one IC-sized photograph, and a
cheque crossed and made payable to"Singapore Polytechnic". Applications
for Personal Library Membership must have copies of documentation showing
successful enrolment in an external degree programme.
The Director, Library reserves the right to grant or refuse membership.
