Finding E-Books
From the My Home page in Books24x7, you can find e-books by browsing or searching. You can also access:
- Bookshelf Folders: the books placed into "personal" folders. As this is a multi-user subscription account shared by all SP Library users, folders can be created, viewed and changed by all users.
- New Books: the books most recently added to the site.
- Top Books: the most popular books in our subscription.
- History: the books most recently accessed.

Browse Topics
Click on the arrow to the left of any topic in the Browse Topics box on the right to expand and show its sub-topics. Click on any of the sub-topics to view a listing of all e-books in that sub-topic.
Basic Search
Enter your search terms in the search box located at the top of every page. You can limit the scope of your search by selecting one of the options in the pull-down menu.
Search Tips
- Books24x7 automatically expands your query using a technique called stemming:
For example -
configure will find results containing 'configure', 'configures', 'configuring', 'configured', etc.
- Use AND, OR to combine multiple search terms:
For example -
unix AND linux will find results with both search terms.
unix OR linux will find results with either or both of the search terms.
- Use quotation marks to search for exact phrases:
For example -
"apache configuration" will search for the words in the order entered, as a phrase.
Iterative Search
The iterative search feature allows you to search within a search.
- Conduct a search.
- On the search results page, type in another search term you would like to find from within your results and click Search.
- The second search result term is displayed under the first and the number of e-books found also decreases. To go back to a previous set of results, click on the search term. However, note that subsequent search results will be lost.
Advanced Search
The advanced search page is available by clicking on the link next to the search box. Information can be entered into as many or as few of the search fields required to get the results you need. The results returned must meet all the search criteria specified.
Search Results
The search results display the most relevant e-books with the most relevant sections listed.

From the search results, you can:
- Open the e-book you want to view by clicking on its title or cover.
- Open the chapter or section where the information you're looking for is displayed.
- Sort the results by relevance or copyright date.
